Many of us know the name Wells Fargo and their tag line, “Together we’ll go far.” What you may not know is that here in San Francisco, Wells
Fargo employees are getting involved in the community; they are delving deep into the neighborhoods serving side by side with other organizations. Recently, a group of 11 volunteer from the Wells Fargo Home Mortgage team spent four and a half hours at the Bayview Mission. Arriving early in their red Wells Fargo volunteer shirts, they met director and founder, Rev. Nina Pickerrell and her staff, who have been serving the Bayview neighborhood for just over seven years and helping over 500 families a week. The team of 11 was split into small groups to help make bag lunches, organize as well as clean the main prep area, sort clothing to be given away, manage the vegetable garden and assist in the distribution of clothing and food to those seeking assistance. After all was finished and the families were served, lunch was provided.
“The area has clearly improved due to the Bayview Mission and Nina’s presence and what they stand for. I believe my entire team was very pleased to have helped those in the community and be a part of the Bayview Mission’s effort; several of us are returning to the Bayview Mission to further assist Nina October 21st,” stated Branch Sales Manager/AVP, Craig Barnes.
Wells Fargo as a company is very active in volunteering in all communities in the Bay Area. Their team tries to volunteer as a group four times a year and many employees do so through individual efforts. “Together we’ll go far” is a motto Wells Fargo is sticking to.
