Introducing  Rebuilding Together San Francisco’s Development Intern extraordinaire, Faina Gersh.  She is relatively new to the City, opting to take a hop from Florida to California, landing in San Francisco and into our office.

She first got the volunteer bug with Meals on Wheels, a great organization that delivers healthy meals to the elderly. She found out about Rebuilding Together San Francisco through her own research and contacted Karen once she saw the Development Intern position on our website.

Her favorite thing about volunteering for RTSF is the tangible outcome from her grant research and grant writing. 80% of the grant money she is able to get are transferred into our year-round Home Safety program, and our annual Rebuilding Days, while about 20% is used for nonprofit overhead.

She describes her time here as great because RTSF stands for a good cause, Karen and the RTSF staff are kind and warm and would definitely recommend others to volunteer with Rebuilding Together.

A project Faina has had a big part of is our Razoo campaign. This allows small groups of people a way to fundraise and bring a team to a Prep Day. This also allows people who cannot volunteer physically but still wants to help out. Join Faina, our first fundraiser!
