Congratulations to Conrado Vellve, our April Volunteer of the month! As one of our exemplary Construction Captains,  With at least seven successful Rebuilding Day projects under his belt, Conrado’s methods are modeled by new captains far and wide.

Conrado continues to volunteer with Rebuilding Together San Francisco because our amazing pay and benefits package: “[thank you] cards from the kids” at the many Elementary

Schools he has served.

As a Construction Captain, what does Conrado do?

“Pretty much the kind of thing I do in my work as a commercial construction manager.  Organize, organize, organize.  Actually, the sequence is:  work with the client, architect, and volunteer captains to optimize the scope; break down the tasks to match volunteers; visit the facility and the volunteer offices to engage the participants; source the materials; determine the equipment, warehouse & paint orders; make dumpster arrangements; and then load up the stake-truck and prepare for a long day.”

As a captain his most memorable experience was his project at Daniel Webster Elementary School.  He teamed up with Potrero Hill Parents Group and former mayor Art Agnos to paint an entire elementary school, “It was almost insane!”

We look forward to having Conrado as a Construction Captain for future projects!
