Getting volunteers to and from work sites in a parking space deficient San Francisco has been an obstacle for volunteer management and logistics.   During a previous Rebuilding Together event, a work site was very close to the Bart Station, but transporting volunteers around the neighborhood was still a challenge.  Ben Osgood worked with ZipCar to find a perfect solution by combining an innovative mindset, and beneficial partnerships.

Zipcar Saves the Day at Rebuilding Together Event

This year’s Rebuilding Together/ULI event was located within close proximity to a BART station, offering a perfect solution to limited parking at the work site.  However it also created the challenge of shuttling volunteers, since the walking distance was prohibitive.  Thanks to a generous donation from the San Francisco ZipCar office, we were able to effectively get volunteers to the job site from BART using fuel-efficient Toyota Prius hybrids.  Thank you ZipCar!
