Board President Kevin Skiles is at it again! Kevin has been volunteering with us for 10+ years, serving first as a Construction Captain on 13 facilities and homes, and now as our Board President. Not only is Kevin a dedicated volunteer, he is also this year’s RTSF Board Member ROCKSTAR!
Let us refresh your memory. Last year, Kevin reached out to his friends and colleagues to support Rebuilding Together San Francisco by “buying a mile” on his 32 mile run at the Coyote Ridge 50k. He completed the run and raised over $1500 to improve the lives of San Francisco seniors through home repairs that help them stay safe and warm in their own homes.
Was the thrill and exhilaration of running a 50k for a good cause enough for Kevin? Well, as Kevin claims “if some is good, more is better: I’m doubling the mileage this year – that’s right 100 Kilometers!” You heard him, Kevin will be running a 100k (62 mile) endurance run on October 6th!
Kevin will be running the Rio Del Lago trail which is a 100k rolling gorgeous trail along Folsom Lake and the American River all the way to Cool Firestation. He is to complete the trail under 18 hours - click here for more information about the trail. Like his previous fundraising run, Kevin is reaching out to friends to support RTSF and encourage him to keep going when he starts to “feel crappy around the 30th mile.” This time, anyone who contributes $1 or more per mile ($62) will get their name on a feather that Kevin will wear on a head dress as he crosses the finish line – you don’t want to miss being part of that!
But, there’s more! If Kevin raises more than $2,500, he will dye his hair GREEN for our Fall Build Day on October 27th! We can’t wait to see that! If you know Kevin, or even if you don’t, you can help motivate him and give him the perfect reason to cross the finish line with a contribution. Every mile will go a long way, literally!

We will see you at the Finish Line Kevin, our Board Member ROCKSTAR!
