The Project: Mr. L has been a San Francisco resident for most of his life. He is also a united states Veteran. He was drafted for the Vietnam war, but the government ran into a snag because he wasn’t a current U.S. Citizen. After things were straightened out, he was sent to the Korean War. There he met his wife and the moved to San Francisco and they’ve lived happily in their home for 37 years. Rebuilding Together San Francisco hopes that the services provided will make their home safer as they age.
Reason 1 to Twive: Mr. S is 74 and lives in the home his father rebuilt decades ago. While his dad was a handyman and maintained their home for many years, Mr. S just can’t physically or financially keep up with the needed repairs.

The Project: Mr. K moved into his home with his family as a boy in 1964 and has lived there ever since. He now lives there, in the OMI (Oceanview, Merced Heights, Ingleside) neighborhood, by himself yet he is a strong believer in the power of family and lives by this piece of advice, “let your loved ones know you love them.”. As Navy veteran, Mr. K was eligable for Sear’s Heroes at Home program which afforded us the opportunity to provide him with additional home repairs. Read More »
The Project: Mr. and Mrs. A have been great clients. Mr. A describes their home in the OMI (Oceanview, Merced Heights, Ingleside) neighborhood as “their first and last.” They’ve raised four children in this house, and it’s been their home base as they’ve weathered both good times and bad.
The Project: Ecocenter at Heron’s Head Park is a beautiful center and it was a pleasure to serve them. The Ecocenter promotes the long term health of our communities by providing an understanding of environmental justice and urban sustainability principles to young people.
The Project: San Francisco Community School was started by parents and teachers in 1972 in order to create a small school environment with increased parent involvement and collaboration in governance. The school’s mantra is Strong Minds, Strong Hearts, Strong Individuals, & Strong Community. A motto they have passed on to the diverse k-8 student population. Read More »
